Ann Curry
Ann Curry was born in the United States and is an American photographer and journalist. Over the past forty-five years, she has concentrated on documenting the suffering of people, particularly when natural catastrophes or war are occurring. Curry was a reporter in war zones such as Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, (born November 19 1956 Agana American journalist and television anchor and news reporter who was best known for her work as a correspondent for the Today program, which was a morning news show that was telecast through the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry is known for reporting humanitarian crises and natural disasters particularly in nations which have suffered the effects of conflict. Curry's maternal grandmother is Japanese and her father was an US Navy Sargent. She met her mother while stationed with her father in Japan after World War II. Because of her father's military service, the family has moved around quite a bit. They finally arrived in Ashland Oregon where Curry attended high school. In 1978 she graduated in 1978 from in the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in journalism. As a child she was exposed various different cultures. Curry could not attend one school in Alameda, San Diego Oregon, or Virginia over the course of two years due to her family was constantly moving. Finally, she graduated Ashland High School. She began a career that led to a lucrative job by becoming a broadcasting intern for KTVL Channel 10 Medford. It was her first time as a female news correspondent at this station at the age of 22. In the following years, she worked as anchor and reporter at KGW in Portland Oregon. She moved back into Los Angeles four years later working as a journalist at KCBS TV. Two Emmy Awards were won during her six year association with KCBS-TV.
